OpenAI’s income grows fast, aims for $12.7 billion
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is seeing its income climb quickly. As of June, it’s earning at a rate of $10 billion per year, not counting big one-time deals or payments from its main partner, Microsoft. This puts OpenAI on track to reach its 2025 goal of $12.7 billion in earnings. The company is growing much faster than others in the AI field, like Anthropic, which recently hit $3 billion in yearly income.

Even though OpenAI lost about $5 billion last year, its fast growth is boosting its value. In March, it announced plans to raise $40 billion in a funding round led by SoftBank, a Japanese investor. This deal values OpenAI at $300 billion. Since launching ChatGPT in late 2022, the company, led by Sam Altman, has introduced many subscription plans for both regular users and businesses.

OpenAI’s success shows how much demand there is for AI tools. Its ability to make money is outpacing competitors, and the company is using this to fuel its growth. With new offerings and strong investor support, OpenAI is leading the way in the AI industry, even as costs for building advanced AI systems remain high.
