Trump secures wins at supreme court
Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has achieved several victories at the U.S. Supreme Court through urgent legal requests. His administration has actively sought the court’s help to push forward policies, especially on immigration. The court, with its conservative majority, has often supported Trump’s moves, though not without some concerns.

One key win allowed Trump to end a program protecting over 500,000 migrants from four Latin American countries. The court also permitted his plan to access Social Security data for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Additionally, Trump’s team successfully overturned a court order requiring internal DOGE communications to be shared. However, some justices, like Ketanji Brown Jackson, have raised concerns.

Jackson warned that the court’s quick interventions might send a “troubling message” by appearing to favor the administration too readily. Despite these reservations, the court’s conservative lean, bolstered by Trump’s three appointees, has generally backed his agenda. Trump’s approach relies on fast-tracking cases to the Supreme Court, a strategy that has proven effective so far.

Yet, his immigration policies, including attempts to limit birthright citizenship and impose tariffs, face ongoing legal battles. Lower courts have questioned the legality of some actions, like Trump’s tariffs, which could reach the Supreme Court soon. These wins highlight Trump’s influence on the judiciary, but critics warn of potential overreach as his administration continues to test the court’s boundaries.
