Trump supports tesla after Musk’s apology

In Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump expressed his admiration for Tesla, saying, “I like Tesla,” despite a recent public disagreement with the company’s CEO, Elon Musk. The two had clashed over Trump’s tax and spending bill, which Musk called a “disgusting abomination.” This led to a heated exchange, with Musk even suggesting he might start a rival political party.

The feud caused Tesla’s stock to drop significantly, worrying investors about potential risks to Musk’s businesses, including Tesla and SpaceX. However, Musk later softened his stance, admitting on X that his critical posts about Trump went “too far.” He deleted some of those posts, and after talks with Trump’s team, including Vice President JD Vance, the tension eased.

Trump, in turn, praised Tesla at a White House event, saying he also likes other car brands but supports consumer choice in vehicles, including electric ones. He mentioned ending the federal EV mandate on his first day in office, a move he had long promised, which Musk seemed to accept.

This reconciliation calmed investors, and Tesla’s stock began to recover after losing $153 billion in value during the dispute. While Musk’s relationship with Trump may not be as close as before, his apology and Trump’s positive words about Tesla suggest both are working to mend ties, protecting Musk’s business interests.
