Xiaomi donated 500 million yuan to start ‘Xiaomi Young Scholars’ project

Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation announced that in order to further support the development of young talents in China and promote the construction and training of young scientific research talents and young teachers, Beijing Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation took the lead in supporting the cultivation of young talents in colleges and universities.

Cooperate with various colleges and universities to carry out the “Xiaomi Young Scholars” project, plan to donate a total amount of 500 million yuan, and cover 100 colleges and universities across the country within 5 years.

Today, Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation and Peking University Education Foundation held a signing ceremony at Peking University, and Peking University became the first university to sign the “Xiaomi Young Scholars” project.

Moreover, the Beijing Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation was initiated by donations from Xiaomi Group and was approved by the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau. It was established on February 3, 2019. The original fund was RMB 10 million, which was a local non-public foundation.

In January this year, the Xiaomi Foundation donated 10 million yuan to set up the ” Xiaomi Sports Scholarship ” at the All-China Sports Foundation to jointly help young athletes develop in an all-around way.
