Samsung released the Galaxy Note 9 flagship mobile phone, which ran the Android 8.1 system when it was released. In 2019, the phone received a major version update to Android 9. In 2020, the phone received the Android 10-based One UI 2.5 update. After that, the device gets quarterly security updates.

Yesterday, Samsung released its September security update and listed the devices supported by the update. While adding two new folding screens, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, the Galaxy Note 9 was removed, which means that the phone has ended official support and will no longer receive security updates every quarter.
Meanwhile, Samsung downgraded the Galaxy Note 10 series from monthly updates to quarterly updates. This series of mobile phones was released in August 2019 and was equipped with an Android 9 system at the time of release. In 2020, the Galaxy Note 10 series phones got the Android 10 update; earlier this year, the Note 10 series phones got the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update. However, the Note 10 series phones will not get the Android 13 update.
Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with a 6.4-inch 2K resolution SuperAMOLED screen and supports IP68 water resistance. The device has a rear 12MP dual camera, both of which support optical image stabilization. As a Samsung Note series model, the device supports the S Pen stylus, which can open the floating window function.
